P4/5 Nativity Feely Stories
P4/5 had a lovely visit to the infant open area today to read their Nativity stories. The children in P4/5 have been working hard in partners and trios to create stories with textures for the younger children to enjoy. Â They had to think about using suitable language and making the stories interesting for the younger children. Â They also had to think about reading the stories using tone of voice to make it sound interesting. Â P4/5 reported back that the stories were enjoyed by the younger children.
Nursery Christmas Party
All the boys and girls came into nursery looking very smart in their party clothes today. When they came in, our elf; Chippy, had been eating our party sweets and taking ‘elfies’ on the iPad. He even left us a note to take some ‘eflies’. The children enjoyed taking ‘eflies’ and even got some on the staff to take ‘elfies’ with them. We all then went into the hall and danced lots and showed off our super dance moves. All that dancing was hard work, so we had a rest with some yummy snack and ice cream! Then a special visitor came….

Solihull Parent Workshop – Information Session
Final science assembly
This afternoon we had a final assembly so that each class and the nursery could share their learning.
Each class has undertaken a range of different scientific investigations and from the feedback all of the children had great fun learning about different aspects of science.
Parachute Drop
Primary 5,6 have been looking at air resistance and, by making model parachutes, were able to determine the larger the surface area the more air resistance and the slower the parachute will drop. We had great fun testing them outside at the amphitheatre!

Science Week
The girls from Primary 5/6 and 6/7 have enjoyed a visit from Lauren today. Â She is a science ambassador who talked about the importance of encouraging girls to study science and a variety of different careers that this can lead to including different areas of Engineering. As a challenge the girls had to build the highest structure that they could.
