Some of our S3 Administration & IT pupils recently visited SSE’s Customer Contact Centre in Cumbernauld.
As part of their course pupils have to study health & safety in the workplace, as well as customer care and how to handle personal/sensitive information so it was a great experience to see how a large organisation such as SSE deal with these issues.
As part of the trip pupils took part in a tour around the call centre as well as some workshop activities.

We were delighted to welcome Archbishop Tartaglia to our school on 21st March. During his visit that day, His Grace presented Archdiocesan Medals to five individuals in recognition of the assistance they provided on the day of the bus crash. The recipients were Mr Paul McGregor, one of our teachers; Mary Moane, our catering manager; Helena Connelly, one of our parents; and pupils David Shearer and Daryn Hunter.
It was a pleasure for Our Lady’s High School to host the visit from Archbishop Tartaglia, and we look forward to him returning to the school in the future.

On Friday 17 March around 150 pupils and staff enjoyed a coffee morning to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
The coffee morning was organised by Miss Sharkey’s S3 & S6 Personal Development classes to raise funds for our Lenten charities – SCIAF & HCPT.

Congratulations to our fantastic musicians who performed in the very prestigious North Lanarkshire Schools’ Spring Concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Thursday 30 March.
In total there were over 600 performers showcasing a superb array of musical talent. Well done to all those from Our Lady’s High School who were involved.

On Monday 27th March, all pupils in S1-S3 participated in the ‘No Knives, Better Lives’ programme after receiving a presentation from PC Kenny Blades and Mrs Duncan from Medics Against Violence.
The presentation covered knife crime and the consequences of such. As well as this, pupils also learned about the impact knife crime has on families and communities.

Congratulations to all our budding athletes on their fantastic performance in the North Lanarkshire Cross Country Event last week.

The Senior Football Team have had a fantastic season.
Over the course of the year, the team have had a number of fantastic performances, including a 7-1 victory over our local rivals Greenfaulds. This year the Captain was Ryan McTurk and Vice Captain was Sean McGeachie, both of who did great jobs! Top goal scorer was Michael Quinn with 11 goals, and player of the season was tied between Sean Garey and Luke Scullion who both received 3 man of the match awards.
Well done to everyone for their participation this year.

Congratulations to two of our senior pupils, Jamie McDiarmid and Mark Stewart on their phenomenal success in the elections to the Scottish Youth Parliament. Both boys have been elected to serve as MSYPs, representing the interests of young people in the local area and beyond.
We wish them every success in their new role.
