Our Week In School

As part of our programme of parental involvement our children take part in Our Week In School twice a year. For one week in the term every child in the school is issued with a special Our Week In School jotter and a folder. During this week every lesson the children take part in will be recorded in some way. Sometimes the children  write directly into the jotter, sometimes a piece of work will be added to the folder and on other occasions a photograph will be taken (this will be added to Class Dojo throughout the week). In some way every single lesson which the children take part in will be recorded for you to see.

At the end of the next week the children  bring their jotter and folder home to show you. This will give you the opportunity to discuss a full week’s work with your child and will give you a greater understanding of what they do at school. Please add a comment about your child’s learning to the sheet at the end of their work.

At Parents’ Night we will also have computers available so anyone who does not have internet access at home can look at the photographs. Over time the jotters/folders will show the progress your child has made and will provide a great deal of information about their learning.

We hope that Our Week In School becomes a valuable way for you to engage in your child’s learning. If you have any questions about this programme please contact your child’s class teacher.
