Unit 3 – World Religion (Islam)
- Assignment – Pupils choose a debatable topic which relates to either a religious, moral or philosophical issue. They will then come up with a question relating to this and carry out their own research in order to answer this question in an essay format e.g. ‘Can Capital Punishment ever be justified?’

- Unit 1 – Morality and Belief (Morality and Justice)
- Unit 2 – Religious and Philosophical Questions (Origins)
- Unit 3 – World Religion (Buddhism)

They will then come up with a question relating to this and carry out their own research in order to answer this question in the format of an essay e.g. ‘ “The theory of evolution is sufficient in explaining the origins of life.” To what extent do you agree?’

When applying to universities and colleges, RMPS is considered an essay based subject and is therefore looked on as a desirable subject to have. It helps to prepare pupils for the style of academic writing they will do at University / College.
