Room 2 December Blogg

Welcome to Room 2’s December Blogg.  We have been very busy learning whilst having lots of fun enjoying the festivities.

Health & Wellbeing

 

I liked finding different leaves. (Ella)

We had a lovely Forest School Adventure to Baron’s Haugh.  We all enjoyed swinging on the hammock and swing, climbing trees, making dens, making clay faces and paddling in the stream!

The swing and tree climbing were both my favourites. (Logan)

I loved making a clay face on the tree. (Callum)

We enjoyed a visit to Jack in the Beanstalk in Motherwell Civic.

I loved the panto and the snack we got at the break.(Fatima)

Thanks to the Parent Council from all of Room 2 for providing the snack for the children at the panto.

 

During the run up to Christmas we have been busy preparing for the Christmas Fayre and having fun at it.

The Rainbow Cafe is one of my favourites. (Madyson)The toasties were good! (Kyle)

Christmas lunch was as always delicious. It got a huge thumbs up from Room 2. Thank-you to the Catering Team.

We have been busy rehearsing for our Nativity Show – Hey Ewe and loved performing on stage for our families and friends.

Room 2 all set for Hey Ewe dress rehearsal.

And our final festive celebration was our party with Room 1 and 3.

 

Next step for Room 2 in Health and Wellbeing is during P.E we will be learning about Gymnastics.

Literacy

We have continued our hard work learning new phonemes and common words.  We are working hard on our reading and writing too.  We use our knowledge of phonemes to help us.

I use the five fingers to help me remember how to spell and write my words. (Tyler)

Next step in Literacy will be to continue with our hard work learning our phonemes and transferring all we know into our reading and writing. P1’s will be starting independent Taught Writing and P2’s will be extending their independent Taught Writing.

Maths

In preparation for the Christmas Fayre we had to make our Ruldoph and the Reindeer Bags.  We used our counting skills to make these. We sold them for £1 each bag and completely sold out! Room 2 made a profit of £64.80-Well Done Room 2, we raised 2nd highest amount in the whole school

We had to count 14 maltesers and put 1 red chocolate ball in, that was Ruldophs nose. (Jude) We worked together to make our Rudolph bags. (Luke)

We have been busy learning to tell the time. Logan and Tyler have chosen their favorite times.

 I like when school starts at 9 o’clock. ( Tyler)

My best time is 3 o’clock, we go home!( Lewis)

Next step in Maths will be to learn subtraction.
