Literacy

This month we have been  learning more new sounds.  We have been thinking about d and e.

D is for dinosaur (Kylan)

D is for dog (Blaine)

E is for elf. (Kole)

E is for elephant. (Aiden)

We also wrote our own letters to Santa.

        

We started our sentences with a capital letter. (Arianna)

We had to put a full stop at the end. (Aiden)

We had to put ‘Dear Santa’ at the top so that Santa knew it was for him. (Sam)

We wrote our names at the bottom of our letters so that Santa knew who the letters were from. (Reece)

We have been learning about the Christmas Story.  We have chatted about the characters in the story and all the different events which took place.  We made our own Nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the Angel, the Star, the Wisemen and the Shepherds.

            

Maths

This month we started our topic on measure.  We compared the heights of different people in our class.

Leathan is taller than Mayson. (Mikayla).

Mrs Geddes is the tallest. (Katie)

Muhammad is smaller than Sam. (Angel).

We have also started to measure length using cubes.

        

The longest leaf was 8 cubes long. (Lily)

The shortest leaf was only 4 cubes long. (Lucie)

Two of the leaves were the same length.  They were both 5 cubes long. (Tyler)

We had to measure from the top of the leaf to the bottom. (Sam)

Health and Wellbeing

This term we have been very active.  We have been having lots of fun trying out our dancing in the hall to get ready for our Christmas party.  We have been working as a team to learn these new dances together.

We enjoyed having our School Christmas Lunch too.

 

Christmas Jumper Day

We enjoyed wearing our Christmas Jumpers to school and tasking part in some Christmas activities.

Christmas party

We had lots of fun at our Christmas party.  We tried out some Scottish Dances as well as playing some fun party games too.  We had a visit from Santa which was very exciting and he left some lovely presents for everyone.
