What you need to know about exams in 2026

Exams start on Wednesday 22 April and end on Tuesday 2 June.

Your school provides an estimated grade for each course before the exams start.

An Examination Exceptional Circumstances Consideration Service is available if you cannot attend your exam, or your performance in the exam is disrupted.

Results day is Tuesday 4 August.

There is an appeals service that you can access directly or through your school.

Easter School 2026

Easter School Tuesday 7th April & Wednesday 8th April

5 sessions per day and a 20 minute break at 10.55am

The purpose of Easter School is to provide pupils with additional support as they prepare for the forthcoming SQA exams. It is hoped that a productive but relaxed environment will be created.

The programme will run from 9.15am – 1.30pm Tuesday & Wednesday
There will be 5 sessions covering subject specific revision together with the opportunity for private study.
Pupils must attend subjects they have signed up for – no last-minute changes can be made as safety procedures must be followed.
There will be a 20-minute break in the morning – pupils may bring snacks/refreshments. However, there will also be breakfast cereals and bagels available to all pupils.
Pupils are responsible for getting themselves to and from school.
Uniform is not required but football colours are not allowed.
The normal rules regarding the use of mobile phones/behaviour will apply to avoid disruption during sessions.
