Dress Code & Uniform

The dress code is in place to make pupils, parents and staff aware of the school’s expectations regarding school uniform and provide clear procedures to administer this code. The code is intended to encourage pupils to wear Airdrie Academy school “colours” to promote a positive sense of identity and pride in the school. It also prepares pupils for the world of work where appropriate dress code is equaly important.

Recent consultation with the Pupil Council indicates a very strong belief from the pupils of favouring a more formal/traditional style of uniform which has now become firmly established.

The following types of school wear are available:
• School Blazer with Badge
• School Tie
• White or light blue shirt or blouse
• Black trousers or skirt
• Navy/black cardigan/jumper – (No Logo’s)
• Shoes (not trainers)
• A Blue Check Summer Dress is also available

A full statement on the Dress Code information can be found in the School Handbook.
