Red Nose Day 2017

Our grand total raised was £496. Thank you to everyone who took part, especially the 4 senior pupils who gave up lots of their own time selling merchandise – Scott Brand, William McEwan, Matthew Paul and Lindsay Rideout. Veronica Sweeney (covering Catering Manager from the school canteen) also made all of the cakes for us and Liz Brannan was our chief cake decorator!

Developing the Young Workforce Week

Developing the Young Workforce Week

Airdrie Academy recently held a very successful Developing The Young Workforce week.  This was coordinated by PT Pupil Support Miss Lilly and involved pupils from every year group at different points throughout the week.

The aim of the week was to have a real focus on providing information and ideas to pupils with regard to future careers.  It showed them the wide range of opportunities available to them and was very informative and enjoyable.

Pupils engaged exceptionally well with all of our visitors and really gained a great deal of information and advice form all who came to support this initiative.

Thanks to all of those who supported the school over the week and made the workshops so enjoyable for our pupils.
