We ASPIRE to be the best we can be

Our Curriculum

At Abronhill Primary School, our curriculum is shaped by our ASPIRE values and the needs of our community. It is based on the Curriculum for Excellence and aims to develop knowledge, skills and attributes for learning, life and work.

Learning at Abronhill is active, engaging and meaningful. Through play, enquiry and high-quality teaching, children are supported to explore, question and make connections in their learning.

We place a strong emphasis on relationships, wellbeing and inclusion. Children are supported and challenged to achieve their best, with learning that is appropriate, progressive and responsive to individual needs.

Through our curriculum, children develop the skills and confidence to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

🔄 Developing our curriculum

We are currently reviewing and refreshing our curriculum as part of a 3-year improvement cycle.

This includes:

  • developing a clear curriculum rationale
  • ensuring progression across learning
  • strengthening consistency in learning, teaching and assessment
