Information for Families

We aim to keep routines clear and consistent so children feel secure and families feel well informed.

This page provides key information to support day-to-day nursery routines.

As our nursery is part of Abronhill Primary School, some information applies across the whole school. You may also find the following pages helpful:

đź•’ Daily Arrangements

Our nursery sessions are 8:45am – 2:45pm.

Parents and carers should bring their child into the playroom at 8:45am and collect them from there at 2:45pm.

Staff are available at the beginning and end of each session to support children and speak with families.

If you are late in the morning, please bring your child to the main office and a member of our nursery team will welcome them and take them to nursery.

Please ensure you are on time to collect your child at the end of the session. We are aware that there are sometimes situations outwith your control so if you are going to be late, please call the office to let us know.

We will only allow children to leave the nursery with the people you have informed us will be collecting them. If someone else is collecting your child, please inform nursery staff or call the office in advance. We do not wish to cause any offence, but we will not allow children to leave with someone else until we speak with a parent/carer to confirm.

đź‘• Clothing and Personal Items

Children should come to nursery dressed for active play, both indoors and outdoors. This includes suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather.

We encourage independence, so simple, comfortable clothing and velcro shoes that children can manage themselves are helpful.

Personal items should stay at home to avoid any loss or damage. If your child requires a comfort item, please speak to your keyworker so arrangements can be made.

🍎 Snack and Lunch

Our nursery has a comfortable and calm dining area where children can eat snacks and lunch.

Further information about food, including any arrangements for lunch, will be shared directly with families.
