Mr Kane is a proud former pupil of Carluke High School and a graduate of the University of Glasgow, where he studied Technological Education. He later completed his ‘Into Headship’ qualification at Masters level through the University of Strathclyde, further strengthening his leadership expertise.
He began his teaching career at Clyde Valley High School before moving to Chryston High School, where he held the roles of Principal Teacher of Pupil Support and subsequently Depute Head Teacher. Mr Kane has also worked at a strategic level within the local authority as Curriculum Manager, supporting curriculum development across all North Lanarkshire schools.
In addition to his school-based roles, Mr Kane collaborates with colleagues across the WEST Partnership and contributes nationally through his involvement with Education Scotland’s National Timetablers group.
