Senior Girls Gain CREST Awards

Congratulations to senior pupils Briony and Aleena who recently achieved Silver Level CREST Awards. These awards are presented by the British Science Association for work on individual science projects. Briony focussed her studies on the evolution of the camera, researching how science has played a key role in the development of technology. Aleena looked at DNA and the scientific and ethical implications of Genetic Modification and Gene Therapy. You can see their results on display in the science department. Both girls received fantastic feedback from their assessors and are hoping to continue their involvement by registering themselves as STEM ambassadors. Acting Depute Head

We are pleased to announce that David MacPherson was successful last week at interview for the post of Acting Depute Head. This is on an interim basis covering a staff absence. In the meantime, until we appoint someone to cover his substantive post he will also still have a foot in the Principal Teacher Pupil Support camp. Parent/pupils who would normally have him as their first line of contact should still continue to use him as such. Written by Mr. McGilp
