Acting Depute Head
We are pleased to announce that David MacPherson was successful last week at interview for the post of Acting Depute Head. This is on an interim basis covering a staff absence. In the meantime, until we appoint someone to cover his substantive post he will also still have a foot in the Principal Teacher Pupil Support camp. Parent/pupils who would normally have him as their first line of contact should still continue to use him as such. Written by Mr. McGilp

Well done!
“It was great to get a phone call today from a local resident who was commending a group of seven pupils who selflessly spent 30 minutes yesterday helping push stuck cars up the hill on Coltness Road. Having traced six of the seven boys today I thanked them in person. Caleb being the seventh. Well done to all concerned and another example of why I am proud to be the Head Teacher of this school.”

Senior Citizen Christmas Party
Coltness High School S3 ACHIEVE and Senior Hospitality groups held a Senior Citizen Christmas Party on the afternoon of Wednesday 20th December 2017. The local people who attended enjoyed a selection of tasty treats along with the entertainment by the school band, a raffle and a visit from Santa. It was a very successful event where the young people demonstrated their talents including planning, preparation and teamwork. We also managed to raise £200 for the National Autistic Society as Mr Johnston, the band leader is going to be running in the London Marathon for them in April 2018. Thank you to everyone who came along and for the donations from staff and local businesses i.e Chapmans, Denholms, Bells, Tesco and ASDA. Photographs used
