Works will start at the bottom of Biggar Road, just before the bridge for up to 4 weeks, to resolve the continual and historic flooding. This could be in place from Wednesday/Thursday next week. A shuttle bus will be in place to take residents to and from Cleland. The diversion will be to Peggy Whites roundabout at Newhouse, down the A73 and back in from Bellside roundabout (opposite direction from Cleland). At this time I am unsure if there will be any pedestrian access. I will keep you updated!

Your son/daughter is invited to attend study sessions which will run in the library on a Monday from 3.45 – 5pm. This will allow pupils an opportunity to complete homework for the subject(s) of their choice and/or do some revision in preparation for the upcoming period of SQA examination. It also will allow pupils to do some valuable study in a quiet, relaxed environment, where a drink and snack will also be provided. Computers will be available if necessary, as well as the necessary stationery/materials. This will start on Monday 21 February and run until 28th March, with scope for extending if desired. Last week we heard the sad news of the passing of former Head Teacher Bill Morton at the age of 89. Mr Morton was Head Teacher of Coltness High School between 1974 and 1993. Prior to his arrival at Coltness High he had been an English Teacher, head of department and Assistant Head Teacher at the then Hamilton Academy, which later became Hamilton Grammar. As part of his professional life he was also an examiner and setter, for what later became the SQA, between 1972 & 1975. He always enjoyed the extra-curricular side of the school and was a keen golfer.
