Book Gifts to All First Year Pupils

As part of North Lanarkshire Council’s reading for pleasure initiative ‘Read to Succeed’ all first year pupils were gifted a book of their choice at Coltness High School.

Read to Succeed

First year pupils’ from Coltness High attended the closing ceremony of North Lanarkshire Council’s reading for pleasure initiative ‘Read to Succeed’. All first year pupils’ across North Lanarkshire have had the experience of listening to an author in their schools. The author at today’s ceremony was Dan Freedman, author of the footballer series, Jamie Johnson. The pupils’ received a signed copy of one of his books from the author.               Mrs Leckie.

S1 – S3 Youth Club

South Wishaw Parish Church Halls, East Academy Street, Wishaw Impact Youth Group (S1-S3) 1st & 3rd Saturday of every month 7pm – 9pm (Term Time) Table Tennis, Basketball, Foosball, Badminton, Snooker/Pool, Darts, Bowling, Connect Four, Jenga, Chess, Baking, Nailcare, Tuck Shop, Chill Out Space for each club, ‘Walk the Talk’ slot.        

S1 – S3 Kickboxing Class

New Kickboxing / Fitness Class commencing Wednesday 18th September 2019 6 weeks after-school club FREE of charge Delivered by ‘Rivals Gym’ Professional Coach If interested please sign name on sign-up sheet opposite P.E. base door asap!

School Lockers

Lockers will go on sale next Wednesday 4th September P1-P4.  Pupils will be tannoyed to the Support for Learning base by year group. Pupils will require to have £15 (£10 for the cost of the locker and £5 deposit that they will get on return of their key at the end of the year). Lockers are now allocated in set areas for each year group. If any pupil is struggling to cover the cost but has a desire to have a locker they can speak to their Pupil Support Teacher.

P7 Information Evening

There is an Information Evening for the P7 parents of our associated primary schools here in Coltness HS, on the 11th September 7pm – 8.30pm. After initial information in the Assembly Hall parents will be free to visit departments within the school, meet teachers and see examples of the excellent pupil work that goes on in Coltness HS. There will be time for questions over light refreshments in the Social Area at the end of the evening. We would be delighted to see as many of you there as possible at this initial transition event.
