The Annual Voter Registration Canvass is underway, and residents in Lanarkshire are asked to ensure that they complete the Household Enquiry Forms (HEF) sent to each household.
Residents will need to complete this form and return it as soon as possible to ensure that they will remain on the electoral register and are able to vote in any future elections.
The return of the form will also save on local authority money as the Electoral Registration Officer is required by law to send a canvasser to households who do not return the form.
Residents are also being reminded that credit reference agencies use the electoral register as a check when assessing credit applications. Therefore if people are not on the register, their ability to access credit may be affected.
Residents are advised if they have any queries with the form, they should contact the Lanarkshire Electoral Registration office on freephone 0800 030 4333.
