Metaphrog are John Chalmers and Sandra Marr. John is from Scotland and Sandra is originally from France. Together, they have been creating comics and graphic novels since 1996.
The visit was arranged for all first year pupils’ and they enjoyed listening to how the duo’s career began, starting with their first comic, Strange Weather Lately. Their presentation moved on to show how they worked together as a team to create their Louis series of graphic novels and their latest one, The Red Shoes and Other Tales.
John and Sandra are proud of the work they do in schools and libraries, inspiring young people to read, write and draw.
“We speak to several thousand children every year while visiting school and public libraries for author events and it’s incredibly exciting helping to inspire people to read and seeing young people fulfil their potential working on projects and developing self-esteem through reading,” says John.
