Library Mascot

Rachel McGuire, 1L2, was chosen as the winner of the Design a Super Librarian competition back in August. Mrs Canning from the Home-Economics department offered to bring ‘Jimbob the Bookworm’ to life and Rachel is pictured here receiving him at the start of Mrs Canning’s HE lesson last week. Mrs Canning’s daughter helped to make him and they are both producing another one to be our school library mascot. Duncan Fleming, the runner-up is standing next to Rachel and the pupils of 1L2 are also pictured.

Premiership Experience

A group of 30 pupils from S3-S6, led by Mr McGurk(PE) who was assisted by Mr McPherson, went to Old Trafford at the September weekend to see Manchester United play against Sunderland. Despite the early start the both pupils and staff had a great day as they watched some excellent play and got to see some of ManU’s new signings as well as fans’ favourite Wayne Rooney. The group were delighted when the home team were victorious 3-0. Mr McGurk was delighted with the pupils as their behaviour on the day was exemplary. The next premiership experience will be in a few weeks time to watch a champions League match. Pupils in S1-S3 should contact Mr. McPherson(PE / Pupil Support) if they are interested in attending.
