Active Girls Day

Recently, our young Sports Ambassadors organised an Active Girls Day filled with activities, such as football, netball, volleyball and sessions in our fitness suite, to enable our pupils to develop and strengthen skills.  Thank you to our ambassadors for putting together an action-packed and fun-filled day which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

S3 BGE GRADUATION

It was a very different BGE Graduation this year however the school were determined to honour our S3 pupils by celebrating their completion of the ‘Broad General Education’ phase of the Curriculum for Excellence. Each pupil was invited to the assembly hall with their house group and were gifted a new senior tie which they will wear as they begin the Senior Phase of their education in fourth year. Congratulations to all of our pupils and we wish them all the best as they begin S4 in the next school session.

INTER-HOUSE PUMPKIN CARVING COMPETITION

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic curtailing many of the normal inter-house events in the school, the senior house captains and prefects ran a pumpkin carving competition for their fellow S5 and S6 pupils on Friday 30th October. The event followed all social distancing and enhanced hygiene guidelines but also delivered a much-needed injection of fun into the school’s Halloween celebrations. Many of the pumpkins modelled fantastically spooky designs but in the end it was Lorne house who grabbed first place in both the fifth year and sixth year competition.

INTER-HOUSE EVENT

On Friday 9th October, the school hosted its first inter-house event of the session, a hotly contested inter-house rounders competition. The event was organised with social distancing and safety as a priority but the participants still had great fun battling it out for the title in the sunshine. The eventual winners of the event were Morven house. A huge well done to all of our competitors.

TABLE TENNIS WORLD CUP FOR MALAWI

The Malawi Committee staged their latest fundraising effort, a ‘Table Tennis World Cup’, on Monday 1st of December. Thirty-nine players competed in the tournament with fifth-year pupil Luke Hamilton being crowned the eventual winner. Well done to Luke, who received a £20 Nando’s voucher as his prize, and to all of the other participants who raised money for next year’s Malawi trip.
