Hi families!
We would like to introduce you to our now completed childrens picture book “The Bully Mammoth.” Since anti-bullying week and Scottish book week we have been working so hard to bring this story to life.
Firstly, we planned out our story, thinking about characters, setting, problems in the story, our solutions and rhyming words. We all gave ideas and then voted on our favourites as a class. Next we began the writing process. We had a whole class discussion, decided on the order of events in the story, chose relevant rhymes and then Mr M typed the story on the board. After that we discussed illustrations and visualisation. Each pupil was given their own part of the story to visualise and illustrate. Once that was complete Mr M took pictures of the illustrations and put them onto a powerpoint. Finally, we individually read the parts we illustrated whilst Mr M recorded and we created an audiobook of sorts. The complete work can be seen in the attached powerpoint.
We are really proud of this piece of work, we really hope you enjoy the story as much as we enjoyed planning, writing, illustrating and recording it!
