Numeracy
This week we began looking at estimation and tying it into our time topic. We estimated how long it would take us to complete tasks such as hopping 20 times on the spot, saying alphabet forwards and backwards and tidy our trays. We recorded our estimates, used the ipads to time ourselves completing the task and then recorded the actual time. We had amazing fun completing this task.
We also took part in the sumdog competition which was taking part accross the whole country for Maths week:
Literacy
This week we practiced new spelling words in P4 and 2 new sounds for P3’s: “wh” and “ph”. We completed some tasks through the week and then completed a spelling test at the end of the week. We enjoyed reading new books and completing tasks relating to the books. For writing we wrote letters. P3’s wrote a letter to someone telling thme how much they appreciate them and the P4’s wrote an imaginative letter, imagining thye were someone called Balthasar, the lettes were excellent. Well done to Vladimir, Daniel, Callum, Holly, Daisy, Karlie and Aarron for being voted our star writers this week!
Ancient Egypt
We continued to learn about the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. We watched a very informative video and then read the story of Osiris together, it was a pretty gruesome story! We then had loads of fun creating, colouring and cutting out our God masks to take home, it was magnificent!
Music
As always we had incredible fun with Mrs MacDougall and learned so much from her. She always plays amazing music and plans really great lessons! We are always excited for a Wednesday afternoon:
