Thursday 21st May

Good morning Lewis Class. It is looking a bit cloudy this morning, but hopefully the sun is going to come out for us this afternoon! Today, Mrs Creighton is planting sunflower seeds… would you like to try?

I have included your learning intention and a set of visual instructions down below.

Sunflower challenge

Hello everyone,

If you have checked our new school Twitter account, all of your sunflowers have grown and they are planted in the Love Hall Garden so everyone can enjoy them! Mrs. Rose has a challenge for all of you:

  • draw your own picture
  • write your name on it
  • take a photograph
  • send it to your teachers or post it on twitter page.

You can use any colour you want, any tools or materials. You only need your imagination and creativity and your picture will be the best! Don’t forget to add your name. Your sunflower will have their own picture, your own name and you can see how fast it grows. 🙂

Lewis Class: Mrs Coia is making sensory bottles today

Good morning everyone! This week, our Haysholm sign of the week is ‘calm’. I thought we could try and make a sensory bottle, as that can help us to feel calm.

I have included our learning intention and a set of visual instructions down below.

Good Morning Lewis Class

Good Morning Lewis Class

I hope you all had a good weekend despite the weather. It was lovely to see all the photos of our pupil’s wearing their pjs on Friday.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week and at times like this our mental health has never been more important. Therefore today’s activity challenge is for the whole family, not just for our pupils.

I would like you all to do something relaxing today. This will look different for us all, for some it’s finding a cosy spot to read a good book, or having a zoom catch up with friends ,  it might be spending time alone away from a busy house or it may be simply enjoying a long soak in the bath.   However you like to relax, please make time for yourselves this week and make sure you get some relaxation.

Our pupils in Lewis Class enjoy relaxation throughout their school week. This is sometimes in snoozelen, where they listen to a story and enjoy a multi-sensory experience. Alternatively we have relaxation in class, where our pupils like to relax on bean bags and listen to a CBeebies bedtime story or watch a relaxation video on You tube, sometimes the odd foot massage is even enjoyed by our pupils lol.

Please find attached the learning intention to share with your child and the links to Cbeebies bedtime stories and a few suggestions for Youtube relaxation videos, although there are plenty more to choose from.

Just a reminder that the Lewis Class team are available via email or messenger video call should you or your child wish more specific activity ideas or just  to touch base with staff.

Have a good Monday,

Caroline Creighton – gw15creightoncarolin@ea.n-ayrshire.sch.uk

Friday 15th May: PJ Day!

Hello everyone, it’s Happy Friday! All of the ladies in Lewis Class are wearing their pyjamas today… are you going to wear your pyjamas today?

All the ladies in Lewis Class decided to make a video for you all to watch. This is a song that we sing and listen to in class. I wonder, could you sing and sign along with us?

Take care everyone,

Laura – gw14coialaura@glow.sch.uk

50 Things To Do when school is not available – challenge 6

Challenge 6

Good morning everyone,

You may have seen or heard in social media that some schools are planning a ‘uniform day’ on Friday.  As this would be confusing to our children and young people, one of our mum’s has come up with an alternative idea which is one of Haysholm’s favourites!  We all love a pyjama day and have had such good fun in school before carrying out activities in our PJs.  Therefore on Friday 15th May, our teachers blogs will focus on activities linked to a PJ whole community event.

Remember it’s up to you whether you choose to take part or not.  All our teachers will be working from home in their PJ’s, myself included : )) so if you can … share photos via Facebook, Twitter or to the number you have and we can have a giggle #fun and #wellbeing.

Happy Tuesday Lewis Class

Good Morning Lewis Class

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend and although the weather was colder I hope you enjoyed the bright sunny days.

Today’s activity challenge for the pupils in Lewis Class is to look for circle shapes.  This can be done in and around the house, in the garden or when you are out and about taking some exercise.

It would be great to see how many circle shapes you can find.

Have a good day

VE Day

t-tp-2549786-eyfs-school-closure-ve-day-resource-pack-ages-3-5_ver_1

Hi Skye Class,

I hope you are all well and enjoyed your weekend, I can see from Twitter/Facebook you have been busy.

As it was V.E day over the holidays I thought we could do some activities that are related to the VE celebrations that have been going on, I know if we had been in School we would have celebrated this. Here are a few links to give you some ideas and if you have a printer you can print some the activities off.  All these activities can be made into sensory play too, you could finger-paint a flag or make a flag from play dough or something more creative like a red, white and blue themed sensory tray. Whatever you do please have fun and stay safe.

Lewis Class

Good morning everyone,

Hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend. Mrs Brisbane has been doing something that you all enjoy at school, Home Economics. I have made some Paw patrol cakes that you might like to try at home but to do this activity you will need help from an adult, as you will have to use the oven. It would be lovely if you could try this at home and upload your cake pictures so that your friends and the ladies can see your fantastic work.

I have attached a learning intention to help your little learners. I have also sent the link to a short video demonstration on YouTube.

Enjoy 🙂
