Home Learning Activities

All home learning activities for this period of Lockdown will be shared via Seesaw by your child’s class teacher.  You can, however, revisit some of the activities blogged during previous lockdown.  Our ‘For parents section’ also has lots of useful websites and links including Education Scotland’s complex hub page.  If there is anything else we can provide you with for home, please do not hesitate to contact us.

50 Things to do when school is not available – Challenge 7

Good morning everyone,

Sending you all a great big virtual ‘hello’ and hugs.

I have uploaded our next whole school challenge below.  It is national outdoors day and even though it is raining outside, it is still important for us all to get our daily dose of fresh air.  The challenge this week is simple, just go for a walk as a family or if you are shielding get out for a drive in the car with the windows down to experience the fresh air.

The staff are also doing their own challenge this week of collecting donations for the food bank.   So if you are walking past a shop, church or hub that is providing food donations, you may want to pop in and donate an item.  Every donation, no matter whether it is small or big will help to make a difference.

50 Things To Do when school is not available – challenge 6

Challenge 6

Good morning everyone,

You may have seen or heard in social media that some schools are planning a ‘uniform day’ on Friday.  As this would be confusing to our children and young people, one of our mum’s has come up with an alternative idea which is one of Haysholm’s favourites!  We all love a pyjama day and have had such good fun in school before carrying out activities in our PJs.  Therefore on Friday 15th May, our teachers blogs will focus on activities linked to a PJ whole community event.

Remember it’s up to you whether you choose to take part or not.  All our teachers will be working from home in their PJ’s, myself included : )) so if you can … share photos via Facebook, Twitter or to the number you have and we can have a giggle #fun and #wellbeing.

50 Things to do when school is not available.

Thank you to every single one of our parents/carers who sent a ‘hello’ photograph or video, our staff loved the video compilation that was put together.  Needless to say there were quite a few tears.  Every single one of us miss not being at school so it’s important that we #stayconnected as best as we can.

We are all trying our best to think of ways in which we can support you and your child.  Please, please let us know if there is anything you would like us to do in particular.  I’m amazed at the creativity of our parents so if you have an idea that you would like to share, please contact me on the mobile number provided.

Here is Challenge number 4.  I have attached 2 links to use, one that tells you what to do and one that provides your child with a choice of activities.  Remember you can involve brothers/sisters etc.

I hope you enjoy taking part and remember to share those photographs or videos.

50 Things to do when school is not available

Hi everyone!

We are missing you all so the first thing I want to do is to send a great big virtual hug.

You should have now all received Challenge 3 on the Groupcall messaging service. Thank you to the parents/carers who have already responded …

Hopefully I will be able to share what you have all been up to soon with our staff team
