Primary 3

Literacy

This term we are developing our writing skills by creating our own imaginative stories. So far we have learned how to write letters,            instructions, personal recounts and even how to persuade our          readers. Now we will learn how to write in paragraphs and structure a story whilst engaging young readers. You can support our learning at home by writing in sentences using different openers. E.g.            Suddenly, Luckily, Unfortunately. We will use the story mountain structure below to plan our writing and use WAGOLL to develop           creative ideas and characters.

P3 are making excellent progress in reading this term. Please use our new guided reading questions to support your child’s reading at home. We will introduce a new book in class each week and develop our clarifying skills for tricky words.

Numeracy

WE CAN MULTIPLY! We have persevered to learn our times tables and can solving problems using a range of strategies! This term we will learn how to divide by sharing equally. You can support our learning at home by playing games.

Please keep up to date with our latest learning and achievement through our active Twitter page @StMichaelp3.
