Our first week of term two!

Welcome back everyone! We hope you all had a lovely holiday and are looking forward to the term ahead!

This week we have been focusing on getting ready for term two by brushing up on all the skills we learned in term one.

in maths we will be learning about money but it is important we know how to manipulate money using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We have worked ourselves and in teams this week on improving these skills. Here are some photos of us brushing up on our times tables

we started a new sport in pe this term: tennis!

we are focussing on the three most important areas of tennis technique: balance, control and accuracy. We did this on Monday and Tuesday by working with a partner to catch a tennis ball with various obstacles. Sometimes we were moving our feet around while we were throwing, sometimes we had someone in between us who was trying to steal the ball from our team. We are loving tennis so far!

finally, some of you may have noticed that our school has finally finished its refurbishment! Now that the scaffolding is finally down we investigated the playground to come up with suggestions for mrs harker about how we can improve playtimes and lunchtimes. Some of our ideas included making time tables for the sensory garden so that all the classes can use it and buying new equipment to play with.

we hope to enjoy our new playground very soon.

next week is Halloween! We are having an after school party on Wednesday as well as a class party on the 31st. Remember your costumes!
