Our P6 and P7 football team won the NE Fife Primaries’ Russell Cup at Madras College on Friday. Mr Fox accompanied the team and complimented them on their comradery, sportsmanship and great attitude. Well done! #On TRACK to a bright future!
Reminder – Friday 16th May – Dress-down in sportswear for our house games [which are run by the house captains] and donate 50p if you can. Funds raised will go towards fruit snacks for sports day.
Parent Volunteers still needed – we have purchased a new P1-P2 reading scheme and are in need of some parent/carer volunteers to help put protective covers on all the books. If you can spare an hour or two please phone the office.
Birthday cakes – please do not send in birthday cakes for teachers to hand out to children. Due to possible allergies and some parental preferences we are unable to do this safely.
Parent Council Meeting – Monday 19th May at 6 pm at Tayport Primary School. Please notify the Parent Council chair, in advance, if you wish to raise any issues: details here.
Headlice – again this term we have had cases of headlice reported. Regular checking of children’s heads is important, but it is a parental responsibility. Please note:
- Anyone with hair can catch head lice, meaning that the problem, whilst often more prevalent in children, is not unique to them.
- Insecticide treatment should never be used as a preventative measure as the use of insecticidal products on a regular basis may result in insecticidal resistance. Insecticide lotions should only be used when a living louse has been found on the head. NHS advice.
