Tayport Heritage Trail

The Ferry-Port-on-Craig Community Fund has worked over the last 5 years to secure the funding to design, edit and install the Heritage Trail and have now handed it over to Tayport Community Council.

The 4 mile/6.5km route of 24 panels has been chosen to provide an insightful walk whilst the panel locations and content are designed to reflect the various Heritage themes of interest.

The website is still under detailed edit review and will be accessible from both the QR codes on the panels as well as the link http://www.tayportheritage.com during January of next year.

It is hoped that our Tayport and Ferryport children will begin to appreciate that significant changes will also occur within their lifetime as it has within their parents and grandparents lifetimes and that they can embrace them by understanding the past developments.

During 2022 we will use this wonderful local community resource to build a sense of place and belonging.  We hope that families will share their stories of Tayport in years gone by.  In the meantime, all children will bring home a paper brochure, explain about the trail, and a rubbing sheet,  in the hope that families will begin to engage and use this lovely addition to our local community.

Here are some sample panels closest to school. In addition to the QR codes on every panel, there is also a section where children can do a unique rubbing by pencil, which identifies each point on the trail.
