research – Class of 2014

This afternoon P5 were very lucky to get the opportunity to interview a civil engineer.

We got to ask a lot of questions and found out some really interesting facts.

“I found out that Joe was inspired to be an engineer by his love for bridges”. Maya

“He studied very hard to become an engineer. Before this he was a joiner and liked fixing things”. Lewis H

”He works for Network Rail. Sometimes his shifts can be very long, up to 14 hours”. Brodie

“He works with a big group of people who all work together as a team”. Khayrah

P5 are looking forward to doing some more research about the roles and responsibilities of civil engineers and other types of engineers.

P5d have been very busy this afternoon leading their own learning. We spent some time working in pairs, in Google Classroom, thinking of some topics to learn about. As today is internet safety, we thought about how we spent our time online.

This afternoon we:

discussed how we use the internet / technology in our everyday lives
demonstrated, using Chromebooks, how we are responsible internet users
showed how we can use search engines effectively
used a search engine to find facts on our chosen topics
used Google Classroom to work independently and collaboratively as a class
used Google Classroom to share ideas and opinions
discussed the dangers of the internet and came up with ideas of how we could stay safe!
