Homework Jotters

We are still waiting on quite a few homework jotters to be returned. Please can you send them in ASAP so we can assess your child’s spelling sounds.

Thank you 🙂

P3b.1 Assembly

A big thank you to everyone who came to our 80’s themed assembly this afternoon. We had  a brilliant time and it was lovely that so many of you joined in with our games so enthusiastically.  I imagine many of you may be spending your weekend skipping and playing with elastics!

P3b Assemblies

P3b.1 and P3b.2 will be sharing their learning at assemblies on:

Friday 6th March  – P3b.1

and

Friday 13th March – P3b.2

It would be lovely if the children could wear their uniforms with an accessory from the 1980’s if they are able. Legwarmers, deeley boppers, brightly coloured beads, fingerless gloves, hats, sweatbands etc!

Dog’s Trust

We were lucky enough to receive a visit from the Dog’s Trust today. We were all a little disappointed that no real dogs came along but we really enjoyed hearing all about the work that this charity does. We learned how to take care of dogs and also how to keep ourselves safe around them. We had a grrrrrrrreat time!

P3b.2 I.C.T.

P3b.2 have been using chrome books for I.C.T. lessons. The children have learned to  log in to glow using their glow usernames and passwords. This week, the children opened a word document, typed a sentence (about potatoes), changed the size, font and colour.

Maddie created a lovely document and achieved Proud Pupil for her hard work!

P3b are growing their own potatoes!

Primary 3b received boxes of potatoes in the post from Grow Your Own Potatoes.  We have chitted  the potatoes and they are on the window sill in our classroom. We have regional and rocket potatoes to grow.

Watch this space for more potato updates. 😀

Big Cats Reading Books

Please ensure your child has their reading book in their school bag every day as we need to use them in class and unfortunately, we don’t have spare copies.

Thank you for your continued support.

Fairtrade Fortnight

Dear Parent/Carer,

Our Fairtrade Pupil Group members have been working very hard to promote Fairtrade Fortnight which starts on Monday 24 February and finishes on Sunday 8 March 2020.

As preparation for Fairtrade Fortnight the Primary 4 pupil group members conducted a survey to find out which treats children would like to buy at the tuck shop we are planning to run. A subgroup of Primary 5s created posters to advertise the tuck shop around the school. The older members of the pupil group will be giving a speech and showing a PowerPoint to the rest of the school to raise awareness of Fairtrade. The Primary 7 members created a rota for the tuck shop (see below).

We would like to invite children to bring in cash to buy a Fairtrade treat from the tuck shop. We will be offering Geobake chocolate chip cookies, a variety of Divine chocolate bars and Fairtrade Jellybeans. The tuck shop will be running from Monday 2nd March until Friday 6th March. All items are £1.10 so please send your child with the correct amount if possible.

  • Monday 2nd March – Primary 1 and Primary 2
  • Tuesday 3rd March – Primary 3
  • Wednesday 4th March – Primary 4 and Primary 5
  • Thursday 5th March – Primary 6
  • Friday 6th March – Primary 7

Fair Trade Tuck Shop

Yours sincerely,

Fairtrade Pupil Group
