Glow Passwords

Some children have told me that they were asked to change their password when they tried to log on to Glow. This is absolutely fine to do at home. Thank you for letting me know about this.

The children are learning how to use the app Seesaw in class today.

Please continue to check the blog for further updates.

Class Novel P3b.1

We are going to be doing some work in class and at home with our class novel ‘Cliffhanger’ by Jacqueline Wilson. Please let me know by Friday 20th March if you are able to source a copy of your own as we have a limited number of them in school.

P3b.1 Seesaw

Can all P3b.1 children try logging on to Seesaw and leave their name as a response on the assigned activity?

To do this this –

  • either open Seesaw on a PC or download the app to a tablet or phone.
  • Select  ‘I’m a student’
  • Enter pupil’s email which is glow username@glow.sch.uk. (all pupils were given a card with their glow username on Friday)
  • Enter password – this is their sumdog password followed by the number 1 (no spaces)

Any problems we can sort out in class this week!

Thank you!

Mrs Lord

P3b.2 Class Novel

P3b.2 are going to be doing some work in class and at home with our class novel          ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark’. Please let me know by Thursday, 19th March if you are able to source a copy of your own as we have a limited number of them in school.

Many Thanks

Glow and Sumdog usernames and passwords

Dear Parent/Carer,

Every child has been issued with a little card with log in details for both Glow and Sumdog. The front of the card has their Sumdog username and password. The back of the card has their username for logging in to Glow.  The children will use their Sumdog passwords too for Glow. We felt that this would be easier for the children to remember.

We would really appreciate if you could test these at home and let us know if you have any problems.

Thank you!

Glow passwords

We are currently in the process of changing Glow passwords for all the children in P3b.1 and P3b.2. Children will be issued with their password in class on Friday.  We felt it was easier for the children to use their Sumdog password for Glow too.

Homework Jotters

We are still waiting on quite a few homework jotters to be returned. Please can you send them in ASAP so we can assess your child’s spelling sounds.

Thank you 🙂

Homework

Just a wee reminder that the homework jotters are to be handed in tomorrow, 6th March.

The next few weeks are going to be very busy in Primary 3. We have our parent assemblies, Reverend Boag is coming in to talk to us and we are hoping to organise a trip.

Because of this, we will be spending time in class consolidating the previous sounds taught in Primary 3 and focusing on other aspects of literacy such as sequencing, cloze procedures and comprehension strategies. Homework jotters will be sent home and time can be spent going over sounds/common words that your child has found tricky and are highlighted amber.  For extension, children can work on creating sentences and thinking about structure  by adding e.g. adverbs, similes and adjectives.

After the Easter holidays we will go back to introducing new sounds and common words.

P3b.1 Presentations

P3b.1 worked really really hard on their homework presentation and we loved hearing them this afternoon. We didn’t’ have time to hear them all so we are looking forward to more when we are back next week!
