Supporting Organisations – Where to Find Help

This is a handy guide to a range of local and national support organisations. Print out in A5 and keep a supply in the reception of your setting for easy access for visitors.

I’ve just discovered this new app… Smiles and Tears

Nelsons Journey App

Smiles & Tears has been developed by Nelson’s Journey, a charity based in Norfolk, UK. They support children and young people aged 0 – 17yrs who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life. The app helps support children and young people in their grief. It provides an interactive tool to record memories, send gifts and write thoughts, feelings and emotions.

As well as these interactive tools, Nelson’s Journey have also provided tips on how to manage emotions such as anger, confusion, guilt, loneliness etc. which are all common when someone has been bereaved of a special person.

Counselling Directory

This site offers a wealth of information on bereavement, practical guidance, and access to a directory of over 27,000 counsellors, all of whom have provided proof of membership with a professional body. Many specialise in grief and loss, offering support tailored to those struggling with bereavement. With the option for in-person or online counselling, help is accessible wherever and whenever it’s needed.
