Monday

 

On Monday we did some Number Talks Addition. We also watched a Disney short called catch it! And we talked about the music and how it changes in  different parts.For Social Studies we talked about John Muir. We watched two videos about him and wrote notes. After some people made posters,acts and google slides about him. 

 

Tuesday 

 

In the morning we went with Mrs Hutchison to the Art room. We made  mini sketchbooks to go in our sketchbook. After we closed our eyes we scribbled on the page and we had to make a drawing out of our skribbles. After playtime we learnt about Mozart and his life as a Musician. We listened to one of his famous songs and we tried to clap the beat and the rhythm. In the afternoon we decided on our maths group names. Later on we finished our math booklets. 

 

Wednesday 

 

In the Morning we did maths. The mathletes  done decimals with adding,subtracting,division and multiplication. The division doctors did four digit addition.  After playtime we did PE! At first we did some stretches to warm ourselves up before we started. We practised some athletic  stuff like Hurdles,long jump and balancing. In the afternoon we read the second chapter of cloudbusting. After we finished reading we did our cloudbusting booklet, we had to draw the characters that were in chapter two and we had to write the names of the characters and if we thought the characters were major or minor in the story. 

 

Thursday

 

For our John Muir award we were finishing our posters and google slides about his life.Some people even made little skits.everybody needed to add as many facts as they can..In the morning we did some writing about if we were John Muir for a day.We are meant to add different types of connectives and write in first person!.

 

Friday 

 

In the morning we did maths and the division doctors did 4 digit word problems and the subtraction samaris done length and volume with a bit of conversion. After playtime we got our new writing jotters! We read chapter 10 of our class novel Cloud Busting. In the afternoon we learned spanish numbers and we also played killer 13!

Monday 

It was our first maths lesson in P7. We played tick, cross and dot and Mrs Allan’s bubble game which was very fun.  At the end of the day we participated in a stem challenge, we all went into groups and had to make newspaper shoes, which involved newspaper and sellotape. After we made them we had to walk the full distance of the playground without them breaking or falling off.

 

Tuesday

We all went down to the art room and began drawing objects from Mrs Hutchinson’s  house with so much detail.  some of us had flowers, a teddy, a travel kettle and a camera. Down in the art room we also learnt some musical terms and what they meant.  We  began a maths addition mental maths quiz.

 

Wednesday

We all read the first chapter of Cloud Busting called “Mr Mackie said” and we all wrote poems involving some similes that we had to include.  In P.E we went into the hall and learnt how to play games from  playleader cards, and presented them to the class, to show them all how to play.

 

Thursday

In Social studies we looked through a John Muir powerpoint and went outside to think of ideas to develop the greenery amongst the school grounds. This year for our Explorer awards we should complete 50 hours! our residential will be part of this too.

Later on we all learnt Spanish greetings like “hola” ( hello) “buenos dias” (good morning) “buenas tardes” (good afternoon) “buenas noches” (good night)  “Gracias” (thankyou) and “por favor” (please).

 

We played Crows and Cranes on the MUGA and a jail-tastic game of Capture the flag.

 

Friday

We have started counting our Thank Yous in class today. Mrs Allan said thank you at least 50 times after break today! We played Killer 13 in English… next week we will try in Spanish. We revised our Spanish vocabulary and did a wordsearch and crossword. We also started to fill our wonderful work wall.
