A quick catch up! w/c 25th April

On Wednesday, we had a Science teacher from Eastwood and we made fruit batteries. We worked well with the equipment, and Dr Gibson was impressed with our understanding and how well we shared our ideas.

We have started our committees for the last term so that we have more control and input, rather than the teachers deciding everything. We’ll be working on our own activities and also helping with the school Celebration of Achievement, looking at different memories and the Expressive Arts showcase.

In Health and Wellbeing we have been talking about friendships and bullying.  We discussed online and offline friendships, and the need to be friendly, even if you’re not someone’s friend.

We started our SNSA on the Chromebooks (and Mrs Allan said we’ve been working very hard on them!)

w/c 28th March… the end of term!

On Monday we completed our Bikeability Level Two training.  We were really lucky with the weather (especially compared to P7b on Thursday!) We received our certificates, badges and Rider’s Guide on Friday. to recognise our hard work.

On Tuesday we finished off our term with Mrs Hutchison playing lots of different drama games.  We finished our reading books and shared all of our hard work on the Famous Mathematicians homework task.  Mrs Allan was very impressed with our explanations and the diversity of people that we had researched.

Wednesday was a busy day with several of our class out and about! We consolidated our maths skills together in different games and worked hard in PE.  In the afternoon, we discussed the establishment of the Scottish Parliament (and played a bit of Wordle too!)

We combined literacy and art on Thursday.  We created watercolour backgrounds, using spring flowers as the inspiration for our colour scheme.  After practice to refine our line skills, and decide on the shape and size of our flowers, we created detailed line drawings, and a cinqain poem.  Some used spring as inspiration, others April birthdays, flowers, or Ramadan.  They look so effective!

On Friday, some of our class shared their thoughts and experiences about Ramadan. We made a good deeds calendar,  since this is a special focus during the month of Ramadan.  our new digital leaders received their awards at assembly, and we received our Bikeability level two awards too.
