w/c 21st February

International Mother Tongue Week

We learned German and we learned a The Beatles’ song “I Wanna Hold Your Hand”. Some of our class sung the song at assembly and Affan and Nicolas made the video that the whole school watched.

We dressed in the colours of the German flag too.

Snow Fun

On Thursday we used teamwork skills to build a huge, rainbow-coloured snowman as part of a school competition.  There is some debate over its name… We also had to make a shelter for wooden dolls. The shelter had to be stable, safe, free-standing and look good.  You can see our efforts in the photographs below.

World of Work

We started our World of Work research on Friday.  First we talked about why jobs are important and why people might have the jobs they do, and the balance of money and happiness.

We completed a quiz that described us animals and then suggested jobs based on our personalities.  Over the next week, we will research the suggested jobs and make a Google Slide.

Numeracy and Maths

In Numeracy and Maths, we have been learned about multiplying and dividing decimals, negative numbers and how they work and fractions.

Literacy and English

We made an early start on World Book Day by writing to characters from our favourite books.  We started by playing a Who am I? game with famous book characters.

We have our folders of work home this weekend – please remember to return your jotters on <onday!
