Science Week

The theme of Science Week 2022 was “Growth”.  We watched two live lessons, one on Futuristic Farming and the other on being a Climate Change superhero. We were (almost) all surprised to learn that potatoes are the most thrown-out food and that if everyone stopped wasting food for one day, it would have the same effect as 2 million trees!

We made notes and wrote summaries about the recovery of the shipwreck Endeavour using underwater robots, tried precision farming techniques using peas and sweetcorn and designed our own robots to help farmers.  even our writing had a science theme as we tried our hand at sci-fi!

Drama

For drama we practised voice, and came up with a script for a telephone call in pairs which we will perform next week.

PE

In P.E we did another fitness test and compared our scores from before, the tests included: Skipproping, side-to-side jumps, shuttle runs, ladders, pushups, situps, bench climbing and star jumps.

Then for Thursday we didn’t do anything because of the weather however on friday we practised rugby.

Sharing our stories

This week, we shared the picture books that we have created with Primary 2.  We worked really hard to make them as engaging as possible.  many of our books covered diversity and friendship, with some in comic style, and others with different illustration styles.  Mrs Allan warned us P2 can be (very) honest and they gave our stories rave reviews.
