Talent ID

Talent ID Day: Saturday 15th February

East Renfrewshire’s Active School Team and Swimming Development have organised in partnership with Scottish Disability Sport their annual Talent Identification Day. This is an opportunity for young people across East Renfrewshire who have a physical disability or visual impairment to come along and participate in a number of sports delivered by top coaches from around Scotland.

The event if for pupils aged 9-25 years and will be held at the NEW Eastwood High Sports Centre from 12.15-3pm. The last few years have been a great success so we hope we can build on the success from that and get more young people involved in sports. The pupils will be taking part in JUDO, Basketball and Swimming. Coaches will identify anyone that could potentially compete at a Local and National level.

If you need more information please do not hestitate to get in touch with the Active Schools team on 07800629690.

Body Works Tour

East Renfrewshire Smokefree Community Services are hosting an event in partnership with the Science Centre promoting their Body Works Tour. The visual interactive exhibits will be on display at the Barrhead Health and Care Centre for everyone to get hands on and learn more about the human body and health. There are 11 body vision exhibits from an Age Machine where you glimpse into your future to a Heart Beating Drum measuring your heart beat.  There will also be information and material about stopping smoking and second hand smoke. It is sure to be a fun day and is open to all members of the public and all age groups.
