Greenbank Wheelbarrow Competition 11th and 12th June
Once again the Nursery Class and Primary 3 have entered Wheelbarrows in this annual competition. There is a letter in school bags today with directions link below. Please go along to Greenbank Gardens this weekend and vote for one of our wheelbarrows and keep the Trophy in Thornliebank.

Latest news – the nursery class once again won this competition with their Gruffalo Entry. Well done!!
Once again 2 classes from our school and nursery have entered wheelbarrows in Greenbank Gardens Wheelbarrow Competition. Please go along to the Gardens this Saturday 13th June and Sunday 14th June and vote for our Nursery Class and Primary 3 Wheelbarrows. We have done well in this competition every yaer since we started entering but we need all your votes to do so. If you say you are there to vote in the competition you will get free entry to do so.

Parent Volunteers
Thornliebank Primary Active Schools are looking for any parents to volunteer to help with after school clubs!!
If you have a hidden talent or played for a team or still participate in sport then we are looking for parents to help expand our current after school programme.
We will provide any training you would like and will support you every step of the way!
If you would just like to help out and work alongside a coach then we would still love to hear from you.

Wear Bright Day Friday 25th October
All pupils are encouraged to wear something bright on their journey to school bright jacket, hat, scarf, reflective band etc and bring a £1 donation for Brake – The Road Safety Charity.
P1-3 will be taking part in some Road Safety activities throught this week and the next as part of this Beep Beep day. The JRSO officers will be involved in organising activities and will speak at the assembly.
Our 2nd Green Flag
Thornliebank were recently awarded our second Green Eco Flag. This is great news and a reflection of all the hard work by Mrs Culley, The Eco Committee and all the staff and pupils in our school. We thank you for supportiong our efforts in keeping our school grounds clear of litter.
P4 Banners at Greenbank Gardens
Banners created by Primary 4 pupils (Primary 3 last session) are on display at Greenbank Gardens until the 7th of September.
THey were made as part of Greenbank Gardens 250th celebrations.
Summer Activities 2013
A leaflet has been issued this week outlining summer activities available for all in East Renfrewshire.
Booking opened on 4th June.
Thornliebank Whole School Trip 20th June
The nursery class and Primary 1-6 will visit Kelburn Castle and Country Park on Thursday 20th June. The cost for this trip will be £5.50 per child or £5 if there are 3 or more children in a family. All permission forms and money should be sent into class teachers before this date,
Pupils will leave school promptly at 9.30am returning for 3.00pm
A lketter will further information regarding planned activities, clothing and lunch arrangements will be issued shortly in school.
Castle Toward
Primary 7 are having a wet but wonderfully busy time at Castle Toward with Mrs Black, Miss Stewart and Miss Biggin. We look forward to hearing about all their adventures and looking at the photographs upon their return.
