East Renfrewshire Active Schools Netball Final – 1st April.

Our netball team coached by Miss Dunn, Miss Fawcett and Miss Lamb put on a terrific performance recently in the East Renfrewshire Active Schools Netball Final. A well deserved win!

There will be prizes for the winning bonnets in each house for pupils in infant, junior and senior departments.

Sport your Trainers Day

On Monday 10th March, we took part in ‘Sport your trainers on Commonwealth Day’ in preparation for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games.
We had special assemblies where we had a presentation from a gymnast and coach that will actually be taking part in the games!
From 27th July -3rd August, the best atheletes from 71 nations and territories will come to compete in Scotland’s biggest ever sporting event.

We are looking forward to taking part in Commonwealth Games themed topics in term 4. By Mia Adair

Renfrewshire Association of Burns Clubs Competition

Once again, we were successful at the Robert Burns World Federation Schools Competition. Three pupils from Primary 7 enjoyed their day at the annual Renfrewshire Association of Burns Clubs (RABC) competitions run by the Robert Burns World Federation.  Leo McCarrey, having addressed the haggis at our school Burns supper in January, delivered a fine recitation again, narrowly missing a medal.  Sophie Inglis played ‘Loch Lomond’ beautifully on the piano and gained second place while Aidan Lau impressed the adjudicators with an amazing performance of  ‘Shetland Fiddler’ on the piano.  He won a gold medal and the overall winners’ cup and will go forward to the National competition in May where we are sure he will astound judges with his musical talent.

School Choir

Congratulations to our fantastic choir for their performances at the Glasgow Music Festival on Monday. They were ranked 4th place in the Hymn Singing Class and 3rd place with a First Class Certificate in the Scots Song class. Adjudicators commented on the two and three part harmonies and the expression that was evident in their voices. Well done!

There will be no choir rehearsal after school on Wednesday 12th March

World Book Day

Today we are taking part in many activities to celebrate World Book Day 2014. We have visits from a storyteller, an author, classes at different stages are working together to write  a big book and we have lots of different interactive online literacy activites for everyone to enjoy too! All of this whilst being dressed as a character from our favourite book!

Fairtrade Market

Thanks to Dr Lyon, Mrs Cumming and P7 pupils for organising and running our Fairtrade Market.
Many thanks to parents and carers for sending money in with your children to spend. The day has been a huge success. Total amount raised to follow!
