The countdown is on, with less than six months until the best athletes from 70 nations and territories arrive in Scotland to compete at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

To warm up for Scotland’s biggest ever festival of sport and culture, we are joining in with Glasgow 2014’s annual Commonwealth Day celebration, “Sport Your Trainers”. The big event will take place on Monday 10 March 2014.  All pupils are encouraged to wear their trainers on the day as a symbolic gesture of support for Glasgow 2014.  Pupils do not need to bring in any donation for this event.

We are looking forward to learning more about the Commonwealth Games and all the Countries taking part. I look forward to seeing all our pupils take part on this special day.
