FUNDRAISING AND DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Dear Parents,

The run up to summer will be an exciting time for Our Lady of the Missions as we continue to be supported by the PSA and Parent Council in raising funds and holding events to bring our school community together. Here are a few highlights in the months to come. We even hope to be world record holders by summer…watch this space and save the dates! Continue reading FUNDRAISING AND DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Dads and lads – we need your help!

Our next phase to develop the outdoor learning / play area at school is to put in drainage and to surface further areas with hardcore and bark. This will be heavy, physical work and we need around 40 “dads and lads” to complete the project. This will benefit all the children in school by helping make the grassy area accessible all year round. Please make sure to ask any dads/lads not on our email list.

When?     Saturday 10 March
Where?    School playground around the back
Time?     12-5pm – if you can only make part of the time, that’s better than not coming at all
Bring?     Yourself, boots/wellies (will be very muddy).gloves and spades.

Please fill in this form no later than Friday 2nd March at 12noon to give your details and the time you could come if you are able to help on the day.

Easter Cantata

Our Lady of the Missions Primary 6 children will be performing their Easter cantata – ‘Roll Back the Stone,’ in Eastwood Theatre on Wednesday 7th March. There will be 2 performances – 11am and 1.30pm.  This is a very moving experience for the whole community in the lead up to Easter and we are therefore opening up ticket sales to the whole school and the wider community.  If you wish to purchase tickets, you can do so by logging on to the ‘events evening’ system(via parents evening) and booking your tickets.  You then have to log on to ParentPay and pay for your tickets.

The school choir will also be performing on the day.

O2 and NSPCC – St Ninian’s 7th March 7pm

O2 and NSPCC would like to invite all parent/carers or family members to a free online safety work to be held at St Ninian’s on the 7th March 2018 at 7pm.  The content covered in the workshops is aimed at adults.  Parent with children are advised to arrange childcare if possible.

Please click on the link below and complete the form.

World Book Day – Thursday 1st March

Thursday 1st March is World Book Day.

There will be a variety of activities going on throughout the day for all stages – treasure hunts,’ Author’s Live’ from the Scottish Book Trust website, quizzes and many more exciting book related themes.  This year we are not asking the children to dress up, but instead, if any parent/carer would like to dress in character and come in to school to read to the children we would be delighted. Please contact the school if you would be happy to take part.

Thank you
