USED BLAZER AND UNIFORM SALE

Saturday 4th June 2016 1.00pm – 3.30pm in Junior department

How does it work?

You donate, we sell!  Proceeds from the sale of blazers and all other uniform items go towards the school funds.  Larger blazers are particularly helpful.

How do I donate?

Blazers / uniform should be

  • handed into the school office by the end of the school day on Friday 3rd June
  • in good condition.Blazers: please put a note in the top pocket of the blazer to confirm sex and approximate size. Please also put each blazer in a separate bag.

What will things cost?
Most blazers sold for £10-£20 last year depending on condition. Clothing depended on quality and condition but was still a fraction of the usual cost – most items were £1 each. Some, if still in packets, will be sold for slightly more.  Leftover items will be kept for the next sale (if in v good condition) or donated for charity recycling. Thanks for your support!

What if I want to sell rather than donate?
If you would prefer to sell your blazer or other uniform items and keep the sale proceeds this can be done via the school’s PSA facebook page.

Primary 7 Visits

Primary 7 children from St Joseph’s, St Vincent and Holy Name Parish have just received the Sacrament of Confirmation. All three Masses were beautiful; the children were outstanding and should be commended for their behaviour and reverence during the services.

This is the pupil’s final term and it is a very busy one. Below is a list of planned activities. Please complete the attached sheet and return to school as soon as possible. Continue reading Primary 7 Visits

Rice Challenge: Selling rice Monday 16th May – Friday 20th May

The children at Our Lady of the Missions Primary School will be lending a ‘Helping Hand’ to secondary school children in Malawi over the next few weeks, as they participate in the JTS (Just Trading Scotland) ’90kg Rice Challenge’.  Malawi is one of the poorest countries in Africa and as a result, secondary education, unlike primary, is not free.  JTS works directly with smallholder farmers in Karonga Malawi to develop sustainable markets for long grain ‘Kilombero’ rice and it is the sale of just 90kg of this rice that covers the fees for one child to attend secondary school for a year. Planned Road Works on Rouken Glen road

Note from Scottish Water

‘Phase 3: On completion of the second phase of our works, work will start on Rouken Glen Road.  This work requires a road closure, which will take affect from 9th May for approx. 5 months.  During this work it will be necessary to move bus stops in the area.  The new ones will be clearly marked.  There will be temporary pedestrian crossings on Speirsbridge Road close to the junction of Rouken Glen Road.’

Important Information Regarding Confirmation at St Mirin’s Cathedral

A large scale remedial programme has begun in the grounds of the Cathedral. There is NO access via the main gates on Incle Street and no access through the front facing main doors of the building.ALL pedestrian access is by walking up Garthland Lane (past the building and first left) and entering via the car park entrance. Access into the building is then by either side door (which both now have ramps)Children and sponsors should enter the Hall, following the path indicated taking account of the safety fencing. The porch area is out of commission so the only accessible toilets are in the Hall. The Cathedral car park will not be available for parking; there is limited open parking on the right hand side of Gartmore Lane and some on Paisley Road, while the nearest public parking is in the car park opposite the Lagoon Leisure Centre.
Please remember children should be in full school uniform; shirt and tie, black shoes.
Children and sponsors will meet teachers in the Cathedral Hall by 6.30pm. Parents should go direct to the Cathedral where seats have been allocated on a first come basis behind the children and sponsors.
