Well done to all pupils (and staff!) who took part in the first ever Bleep Test Challenge at Mearns Castle. We had 36 runners in week 1. I look forward to seeing more of you next week to beat your scores or get started!
Tests from now on will run in both halls and will be finished by 12:50pm to give you time to get changed and have lunch. The scores are up on the leaderboard so have a look when you are in the department next.
Congratulations to Lewis Bond and Mr Walker who have the best score so far – 13.3
Are you keen to volunteer within the world of sport? Maybe help at an after school club, a festival or even in a play programme?
If so please come along to Mearns Castle High School (E1 Classroom) on Tuesday 23rd April at 6pm to find out more or speak to Mr Donnelly or Mr Cook in the PE department.
All S2/3 pupils who attended the volleyball club last term should meet with Mr Giles at the beginning of interval today (Thursday) with a view to playing in a tournament on Monday after school.
After the success of fitness week in the PE department last week, Mr Giles is offering all S1-S4 boys and girls the chance to better their bleep test scores.
In an attempt to challenge and motivate you, Mr Giles will also run the test. If there is enough interest, this could be a weekly challenge with a leaderboard of boys and girls scores. There will also be a leaderboard for the most improved scores so that everyone can enjoy success from this challenge.
Please meet Mr Giles in the old gym at INTERVAL time MONDAY or TUESDAY (22nd/23rd) to sign up for this event so that I can get an idea of numbers in advance
