Charities Week 2013

Calling All Yeargroups

Charities Week is fast approaching and will begin on the 28th of October and will run until the 1st of November!

Last year we raised over £8500, which was amazing, but this year we want to raise EVEN MORE FOR CHARITY!

TO DO THIS, WE NEED YOU.

If you have any talents and would like to perform at the lunch time shows get an application form from Mr O’Donnell (ROOM F5 MATHS).

BE QUICK!

Forms must be returned by Thursday 10th of October.

DON’T BE SHY – IF YOU HAVE A TALENT PLEASE PARTICIPATE AND HELP THE SCHOOL RAISE MONEY FOR GOOD CAUSES!

Charities Week – ‘The Fringe’

The time has come to get your thinking caps on about how you can help us raise even more than last year from Charities Week. Whether you want to rival the Great British Bake Off with your cake stall, make something creative to sell or even have an idea for a sports competition we want all your ideas now!

If you have any ideas that you think could help us raise money then come and collect an entry form from Miss Khan in Maths (F10) or Mrs Hamilton in Business Education (D14). These forms then need to be back with us by Thursday 10 October so that we can turn your ideas into reality and raise lots of money for charity!

Minitrials 2013

For S5/6 students

The first meeting of Minitrials 2013 will take place in Mr.McGlynn’s room (B10 in the English Department) at 12.35 during lunchtime Wednesday 25th (12.35 sharp!)

Calling all budding Ally Mcbeals and Kavanagh QCs (really struggled to think of a male example of a lawyer you would know! Considered Atticus Finch from “To Kill A Mockingbird” but thought that it was, at best, wishful thinking! )

So if you are interested in studying law, journalism or media in some capacity this is a great opportunity for you to experience the world of law first hand! you will be given the opportunity to work in teams to prepare a defence or prosecution case, benefit from the expertise and experience of professionals and, on the day of the event, experience the drama and atmosphere of a real Sheriff court room as you participate in a mock trial against another school in East Renfrewshire.

(Please note that places are limited and priority will be given to those students who have applied to study law).

If you want to apply or simply find out more, come along to B10 next Wednesday Lunchtime
