Work EastRen is holding a one week training course on work and wellbeing starting Monday 27th March – See the attached flyer above or click here for more information.
**This session is open to anyone who lives or works in East Renfrewshire. Usually, our Autistic Collective events are safe spaces for parents and carers only….and we will absolutely continue to do that, but this webinar will be an opportunity for professionals who support Autistic people and their families to join us, as we all learn together side-by-side**
Over the past couple of years, we feel extremely honoured and blessed to have been able to welcome exceptional Autistic/Neurodivergent guest speakers and trainers to our Autistic Collective spaces. Following on in that tradition….
We’re delighted to announce International public speaker, researcher and published author Kieran Rose AKA The Autistic Advocate will be joining us via Zoom on Monday 27th March from 7.00 – 9.00pm.
Kieran writes at www.theautisticadvocate.com where his work has been read by over 2 million people.
Join us on the 27th March, when Kieran will take us on a whistle-stop tour of Autistic Masking: Dispelling the myths….and what does ‘Unmasking’ mean? then answer any questions you may have.
To register to book your place, and get a ZOOM link, please email hello@autistic-collective.org
Can’t make it? Don’t worry, please register anyway. All registrants will be sent a recording afterwards (NB: the Q&A section of the session will not be recorded) |
Kieran was diagnosed Autistic in 2003 and is a parent to 3 Autistic children.
Kieran has chapters and mentions in several internationally renowned books and has a book on Autistic Masking and Stigma, co-written with Psychologist Dr Amy Pearson, due to be published with Pavilion Press in 2023.
Kieran guest lectures at Universities across the UK and is a regular guest lecturer in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Sunderland, and to mental health professionals at The Anna Freud Centre for children and families.

Dear parents/carers
In preparation of our young people making subject choices next year, Skills Development Scotland careers advisers are hosting a webinar for parents and carers of S2 pupils on 7 Dec at 6:30pm to discuss option choices and the support and resources available from Skills Development Scotland to support both young people and parents and carers at this time.
You can register for the session here: https://optionchoiceswebinar.eventbrite.co.uk
As a school community, we wish to celebrate the enthusiasm and successes our pupils enjoy out with the classroom. In order to do so, we are working to gain more information about the wide and varied range of activities that our young people participate in.
Please ask your child to complete the short questionnaire that can be accessed using the QR code.
This information will support staff in getting to know more about your child. This is different to the questionnaire that pupils completed in class this week.

This session is open to parents/carers in East Renfrewshire
*The Autistic Collective grew out of the Carers Collective. A dynamic group of unpaid carers supporting loved ones with a wider range of care needs, facilitated by East Renfrewshire Carers Centre and HSCP Carers Lead. Autistic Collective is a working group of parent/carer volunteers of Autistic and AuDHD people. Over the past couple of years, we’re hugely grateful for the invaluable support we’ve had from ERCC and HSCP. Sometimes as a parent we feel we’re “just mum/dad” and don’t recognise we are also a carer to our amazing, beautiful child / loved one. There’s loads of extra advice and support available if you’re “mum/dad” AND also a carer. For more info or just to have a chat, please phone the lovely folks at ERCC on 0141 638 4888 or email enquiries@eastrenfrewshirecarers.co.uk
