Final Exam Preparation

It is important to recognise that pupils have different preferences with regards to their study and, as such, students at Mearns Castle should “do what works for them”.

You will find detailed below some of the supports which are on offer to pupils at Mearns Castle. Please discuss these with your child to ensure that preparation for examinations is as fulsome as possible .

SATURDAY STUDY CAFÉ

Large numbers of pupils regularly attend our study café sessions on Saturday mornings. During the month of March, teachers will be supplementing the usual study café offer with targeted support sessions in their subjects. Students will have the opportunity to sign up for these sessions during the school day and they will be allocated in order of preference.

ASSISTED STUDY

There is a generous and wide-ranging assisted study offer at Mearns Castle High School. Please click here to see this year’s assisted study calendar.

EASTER SCHOOL

Easter School has historically been a popular and high impact feature of our school calendar, which is in place to provide a further level of support in the final weeks before exams. Teachers are focussing on the upcoming diet of SQA exams and ensuring that all candidates are as prepared as possible to demonstrate fully their knowledge, skills and ability.

This year’s Easter School which will run for nine school days from Monday April 7th –  Thursday April 17th inclusive. Online booking will be made available via an email to parents and carers on week beginning Monday 10th March.
