Cartoon / animation artists needed!!!

If you would be interested in designing cartoon characters which will be used for animation and video purposes for Primary Language teaching please see Mrs Nicklin as soon as possible in Modern Languages (D11).

I am looking for 4 characters to be drawn and then they will come alive and be animated to make German language videos for Primary School pupils in East Renfrewshire. The design of the characters can be your own ideas!

S3 Light Festival Project

Faculty of  Design S3 pupils are taking part in designing and building a light structure which will float in a lighting festival to be held in Rouken Glen park  at nightfall.

Electric Glen in Rouken Glen Park will be taking place from February 14-17 when an illuminated trail will create a magical place for visitors. Tickets cost £5 per adult, £3 per child and a family of four ticket at £14 for all advance bookings.

On Thursday the 24th of January the light will be constructed in C10 by our S3 pupils.

Creative Star Exhibition

The Faculty of Design are hosting a “Creative Star” exhibition.The event will take place at Mearns Castle High School on the 26th of November 2012, between 6pm and 8pm, in the Conference Room Suites situated on the first floor of the school. The exhibition will be up until Friday morning and is open for pupils and staff to see the returning art and technical work from SQA, as well as other year groups.

The exhibition  will consist of:

  • S1 & S2 CfE work from the Technical and Art department
  • S3 & S4 current work from the Technical and Art department
  • SQA Intermediate 2 Art & Design
  • SQA Higher Art and Design
  • Current Advanced Higher Art & Design folios.
  • Intermediate 2 Graphic Communication
  • Higher Graphic Communication
  • Intermediate 2 Product Design
  • Higher Graphic Design

Mearns Kirk Parish Church School Art Competition

Mearns Kirk Parish Church held an art competition to help celebrate their upcoming Bicentenary Celebration of their church building (1813-2013).

There was an exhibition held over the weekend with a silent auction held on Friday night. It was a unique opportunity to view all the art work depicting Mearns Kirk created by hundreds of pupils from Kirkhill Primary, Mearns Primary, Crookfur Primary and Mearns Castle High School following our invitation to take part in the bi-centenary School Art Competition.
