Congratulations to the Junior Maths Team who were awarded 4th place at the UKMT Team Maths Challenge competition at Paisley University. A total of 28 teams took part.
Calling all members of the comic book club, past and present. While I am aware that all our members from last year have pulled a Nightwing and gone off to have their own adventures, Comic Book Club has an exciting opportunity ahead and I would like to make this available to all previous and current members of the team. It’s a fantastic opportunity of Hulk-style proportions and we would be mad to pass it up. Please pop along to any weekly meeting to find out more.
In other news, the group have also started Podcasting on all kinds of geeky current events and anyone who would like to have their say on which villain is the greatest of them all or how unfairly female characters are treated in comic books should pop along to B8 every Wednesday lunchtime.
If you would be interested in designing cartoon characters which will be used for animation and video purposes for Primary Language teaching please see Mrs Nicklin as soon as possible in Modern Languages (D11).
I am looking for 4 characters to be drawn and then they will come alive and be animated to make German language videos for Primary School pupils in East Renfrewshire. The design of the characters can be your own ideas!
To celebrate World Book Day, S1 pupils dressed up as their favourite characters from books and films for a fun afternoon in the theatre taking part in the inter-house Big Book Quiz.
House teams battled it out over six rounds, with Gleneagles eventually winning the glory and those all-important 100 House Points!
Fancy dress winners were also presented with certificates and prizes – with 1st place going to Aimee Logan dressed as a Flapper from “The Great Gatsby”.
Well done S1! Click here to see more pictures from the day
Congratulations to Mark Ross, Josh Lightbown, Jehanzeb Mobarik, Alice Carter, Chris Griffiths and Josh McLuskie who represented the school in the British Schools Karting Championship.
Forming two teams, we took third place and fifth place in the regional finals! Congratulations to all for the excellent performance and the sportsmanship displayed.
During the week commencing Monday 31st March pupil will have an opportunity to win a queue skip for the open area/dining hall, 5 house points AND an extra treat!
All you have to do is make sure that you put any of your rubbish in one of the many bins.
Members of the Eco-Committee will be selecting a bin and a number at random and if you put your rubbish in the bin at a particular time you will win the prizes. Good luck!
