4 students from Mearns Castle Played for Scotland in the Under 19 World Lacrosse Championships held in Turku Finland in July.
Matt Hill, Iain Dunlop, Johny Shaw and Josh Gray all took part in the Championships which started on the 12th July and continued until the final on the 21st July.
Scotland beat Korea, Netherlands (twice) and won one and lost one against Wales.

Mearns Castle will be represented in the U19 World Championships in Turku, Finland on 12th-22nd July.
Matt Hill, Iain Dunlop, Johny Shaw, Josh Gray, Kevin Archer & Ben Matthews will all represent their country for the first time on the international stage this summer.

Matt Hill has also been selected to play with the Men’s Senior squad in the European Championships in Amsterdam, Holland starting on 20th June.

Congratulations to all the athletes who took part in the Scottish Schools Track and Field Championships last weekend.
As usual the standard was exceptionally high. Several athletes gained personal bests in their events but special congratulations must go to the following athletes:
All S2-S6 pupils who were involved in the volleyball club this year should meet with Mr Giles in the Old Gym during lunchtime Thursday 14th at 12:50pm.
There is an opportunity to go and watch the GB team play an Olympic warm up match.
Giffnock North Athletics Club will be holding their annual running festival on Thursday 21 June 2012 at Rouken Glen Park. There will be a 5km race for those aged 12 and over as well as a 10km race for those aged 15 and over. First races start at 6.45pm. Please see a member of staff in the PE department to get an entry form
