Mearns Castle High School YPI

Congratulations to all our S2 pupils who took part in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative over the past few weeks in Social Subjects, and to those that took part in today’s final at Mearns Castle.

There were 8 outstanding presentations by our pupils who had made incredible links with their chosen charity.

Our winning group won £3000 for their charity LGBT Scotland, with a very impressive and moving presentation.

Well done to all involved!

Final House Assembly of House Competition

Congratulations to Wallace House who once again are crowned champions of the House Cup Competition. It was a close run race between them and Caledonia, who must also be congratulated for their highest finish ever in the competition.

The assemblies were also a great opportunity for us to present our donations to the charities voted for by each house. Thank you to all the representatives who came to receive their cheque and say a few words about what this donation would be contributing to.

The full results of the House Competition can be found below.

The new competition starts once we return from the Spring Break and the first assembly of the new competition will be organised and presented by our S3 Junior Captains, we wish them good luck in their preparations!

Police Scotland Youth Volunteers – Collection For Christmas Hampers

Over the next two weeks we are asking for pupils/staff to donate food items for Police Scotland Youth Volunteers. We have pupils involved in this group and they have asked the school to support this activity. Once collected, the group will make up Christmas hampers to be distributed to elderly people in the community.

Pupils who are able to donate items should bring them into school and put them in the boxes at the Deputes’ office.

NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS ONLY.

Thank you
