Lots of Socks
Today the children wore ‘Lots of Socks’ to support Down’s syndrome Awareness Day. Have a look at the creative ways the children supported this event…..
Why socks? Well, because chromosomes look like socks and people with Down’s syndrome have an extra chromosome!
Well done everybody 🙂
Red Nose Day 2017
Isobel Mair School classes Yell, Unst and Fetlar have been busy processing their orders of red noses in REDiness for the big day on Friday 24th March. There’s still time to order your nose if you have not alREDy done so!
Order forms are on the table in the foyer – please complete and return to myself or Joanne to ensure you have a nose on the day! The cut off day for ordering is Monday 20th March.
All money raised will help people living really tough lives in the UK and across Africa. For example £2.50 could buy a mosquito net to protect a family in Africa. In the UK, £5 could pay for an isolated elderly person with dementia to have dinner at their local support group. On their behalf, thank you.
The children are encouraged to bring a donation, wear red on Friday and of course have their noses on!

Celebrating Burns Day 2017
The children had a wonderful day celebrating the Bards birthday on 25th January.
We had recently sampled the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties during St. Andrew’s Day celebrations in November, so for our Burns Supper the children decided to taste a variety of Scottish foods. The children all voted for the food they wanted most and counted the votes using tally marks.
Have a look at our photo gallery below!

What a wonderful Christmas Party – AM Session
‘The Little Angel’ IMFC Nativity 2016
What a wonderful performance from all of our children today. The children were truly fantastic, we are sure you will agree!
Have a look at some of our photographs and please share any you have taken yourselves – we would love to see them!
Welly Waddle
We had a FANTASTIC waddle on Friday morning and again on Friday afternoon. We asked for your views and listened by hosting two waddles! One in Eastwood Park for those who preferred a more woodland waddle and one in and around the school and family centre for those who preferred a local waddle! The children certainly enjoyed their waddle – or as they renamed it – their ‘Wibble Wobble Welly Waddle!’ Some excellent literacy with your alliteration boys and girls!
We are now gathering in sponsor money following our waddle. Some parents have asked if it is okay to make a donation rather than sponsorship. This is completely fine and we are glad of all donations. All money raised from this event will go into our Toy Fund to help cover the costs of Christmas i.e. Nativity costumes, cost of children’s gifts etc!
MacMillan Coffee and Bake Off
